Michael Tipps began his career in food and beverage in New York City working in every position in the bar industry. He was mentored at an early age by some of the greatest minds in hospitality. Tipps worked in and managed bars, restaurants, nightclubs, lounges, and boutique hotels, such as the Soho & Tribeca Grand properties for Grand Life Hotels.
After achieving the role of bar manager at the Tribeca Grand at the age of 24, Tipps was taught the essentials of classic mixology by the person responsible for bringing the classic cocktail craze back to the United States: Sasha Petraske of Milk & Honey fame. In 2008, Tipps moved to Los Angeles, partnering with Homan Taghdiri to create Invictus Hospitality, a hospitality industry consulting firm. Tipps sought to create a company that put the business in perspective and had the ability to bring clients a complete vision of their venue and operation to life.
Tipps is well known for being a leading expert on season one of Spike TV's Bar Rescue. He currently consults and speaks nationwide with Invictus Hospitality.
