2015 Recipe File: Super Bowl XLIX Cocktails

A great American sport will once again gather people together for great commercials, hefty appetizers and festive drinks! That’s right, Super Bowl Sunday is approaching! And in order for bar owners and operators to get guests off the couch and into bar stools for a viewing party they need to offer something unique! So why not shake up your cocktail menu? Here we have compiled a list of our favorite football themes cocktails for all to enjoy this Super Bowl Sunday!

2 oz. Elit
1 oz. Coffee liqueur
2 oz. Club Soda

Build over ice in a highball and serve with a straw.

The Patriot

3 oz. Russian Standard Vodka 
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice 
1/2 oz. agave nectar 
6 cherry tomatoes 
8 basil leaves 
Kosher salt 
Cracked black pepper

Muddle cherry tomatoes and basil with a dash each of salt and pepper.  Add lime agave and Russian Standard Vodka.  Shake vigorously with ice cubes and double strain into a coupe glass rubbed with lime and rimmed with equal parts salt and black pepper.  Garnish with a basil leaf.


Beast Mode Martini

5 oz. Azzurre Gin
1/2 oz. lemongrass syrup
6 blueberries
1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz. Parfait Amour Liqueur
Grapefruit soda

Muddle berries in the bottom of a shaker. Add ice, gin, lemongrass syrup, lemon juice, and Parfait Amour. Shake well. Double strain into a martini glass. Top with soda.

To make lemongrass syrup, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add 3 rinsed and chopped stalks of lemongrass. Reduce by half. Stir, strain, cool. Will keep for one week.

Beast Mode Martini

The Absolut Pear-fect Season
Created by Absolut Vodka

2 oz. Absolut Pears Vodka
10 Blueberries
1/2 tbsp. Superfine Sugar
1/4 oz. Lemon Juice
2 oz. Lemon Lime Soda
2 oz. Bitters Peach

Muddle blueberries and sugar/simple syrup in a mixing glass. Then add pears and lemon juice, shake and strain over ice in a highball. Top with Lemon lime soda, and optional dashes of bitters. Garnish with 3 blueberries and a mint sprig.

Seahawk Swizzle
Created by New Amsterdam vodka

Serves 4
8 oz. New Amsterdam Citron vodka
8 oz. peach schnapps
4 oz. blue curacao
2 oz. pineapple juice
splash sour mix

Mix all ingredients in a pitcher filled with ice. Blend until frothy and cold. Pour into ice filled rocks glasses, or strain into cocktail glasses, and serve.
