Celebrate National Rum Day Aug. 16

Time flies when you’re having rum, so help your patrons pass the time enjoyably on National Rum Day with some unique rum cocktails.

Any fan of diversity is a fan of rum. The category boasts numerous styles, each with a distinctive color, aroma and flavor profile and unique mixability options, not to mention its own interesting back-story. Be sure to have plenty of the spirit on hand so no one has to lament, as Captain Jack Sparrow of the Black Pearl once did, “But why is the rum gone?”

To get the party going, here are some cocktail recipes to get your patrons to step beyond the ubiquitous (although refreshing) Rum & Coke.
