Summer Rum Sippers

With the summer months quickly approaching, bar-goers will be looking for a beverage to match their carefree, sunkissed attitudes. What better way to celebrate the summertime than with a rum cocktail? We have put together a list of some of our favorite rum coacktails to draw in that prominant summer crowd.

Pomchi Smash Pomchi Smash

1½ oz. Ron Abuelo Añejo
2 oz. cranberry juice
1 oz. lemon juice
½ oz. simple syrup
10 fresh raspberries
5 mint leaves
Dash Angostura Bitters
Ginger Ale

Muddle raspberry with the mint. Add the rest of the ingredients. Shake hard and strain into a highball glass and top with ginger ale. Garnish with raspberry and mint.

Crazy Rave

1 oz. Pucker Rasberry Rave Vodka
3/4 oz. Cruzan Mango Rum
3 oz. pieapple juice
2 oz. cranberry juice

Combine all ingredients in a glass filled with ice, stir and garnish with a lemon wedge.

Dark & StormyDark and Stormy

1 1/2 oz. Zacapa Rum 23
3 oz. ginger beer

Combine all ingredients in a glass filled with ice. Stir and garnish with a lime wedge.


Fijian Spiced Mangofijian

1 1/2 oz. Seven Tiki Spiced Rum
1 1/2 oz. The Perfect Puree Mango Puree
1 oz. St. German Liqueur
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
Garnish: mango slice and lime twist

Combine all ingredients in a glass filled with ice. Stir and garnish with a mango slice and lime twist.

The Rumbathe rumba

1 3/4 oz. Atlantico Rum
1 oz. apple cider
3/4 oz. cranberry juice
1/2 oz. lime juice
3/4 oz. simple syrup
Garnish: 3 cranberries

To make simple syrup, mix equal parts hot water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Combing all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass. Garnish with three cranberries.

Bermuda Rum Swizzle

4 oz. Gosling’s Black Seal Rum
4 oz. Gosling’s Gold Rum
8 oz. Pineapple juice
8 oz. Orange juice
.75 oz. Grenadine
6 dashed Angostura Bitters

Fill a pitcher a third of the way with crushed ice and add all the ingredients. Churn vigorously until frothing (or shake in a large shaker) and strain into 4 rocks glasses filled with fresh ice. Garnish each with an orange slice, a pineapple cube and a cherry.

Lady Whisper Cocktail

1 oz. English Harbour Rum 5 Year Old
1 oz. Old Potrero Straight Rye Whiskey
1/2 oz. Luxardo Apricot Liqueur
1/2 oz. Luxardo Cherry "Sangue Morlacco" Liqueur
2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters

Stir ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice. Strain over ice in an old fashioned glass. Garnish with a lemon peel and a Luxardo Maraschino Cherry.

Tiki Swizzle Cocktail

1 1/2 oz. rum
1/2 oz. port
1 oz. pineapple juice
1/2 lime juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Build in a glass, add crushed ice, stir or swizzle to combine, and garnish with a lime wheel and umbrella.
