Legent, launched by Beam Suntory, is a landscape changing bourbon. It takes what you expect from a Kentucky straight bourbon, expands it, and opens it up to a world of new ideas and possibilities. Legent is a new, distinctive whiskey experience, as well as a new understanding of how learning from others can broaden horizons and push you out of your comfort zone.

Legent is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey partially finished in wine and sherry casks. But it's more than that. It pushes the boundaries for how bourbons can be created while remaining true to the core of bourbon's principles. It's a collaboration between two whiskey legends—Fred Noe & Shinji Fukuyo—and two unique styles of whiskey making. Legent has brought together over 220 years of bourbon-making heritage and nearly 100 years of Japanese whisky artistry. It's a unique collaboration between two of the world's most revered whiskey makers. And just like a traditional bourbon, Legent starts with premium grains, like corn, rye and malted barley, and is aged in select white oak barrels.

Legent is crafted using a historic bourbon recipe from Fred Noe's family. Every drop is crafted with high-quality grains and calcium-rich, iron-free, limestone water and is aged for at least four years in newly charred white oak barrels. Never before have two of the world’s most-revered, award-winning whiskey makers put this much care and detail into creating such a unique product.

Legent is aged in three different types of barrels:

Bourbon barrel aging: From these barrels, Legent absorbs char notes and rich, traditional bourbon cues like layers of caramel, oak and vanilla.

Sherry cask finishing: Sherry casks add complex layers of spice, raisin and heavy dried fruit flavor. These casks also help give Legent its deeper, reddish color.

Red-wine cask aging: French oak wine casks impart different oak notes than traditional white oak bourbon barrels. These red-wine casks also give Legent mild, fruity undertones and a light acidity.

Quick Notes
