Expectations are running high for Shaker, a startup which is hoping to mix up the online social scene with the opening of Club 53 tomorrow. At Club 53, Shaker’s first virtual hangout, users will be able to listen to music, sneak off to private rooms, and bump into new folks on the floor.

It's taking part in a hot trend called social discovery—technology which helps you find new people, not just people you already know in real life.

The Social at Atlantic City’s Revel Celebrates its Grand Opening

On Memorial Day weekend, The Social at Revel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, celebrated their grand opening with performances by pop duo Karmin, along with 3AM, Element K, The Crazy 88’s, Modern Bliss, 39 Mariner and Goodman Fiske.  Known for their covers of Chris Brown's "Look at Me Now" and Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass”, Karmin most recently debuted their Billboard Hot 100 tune, “Brokenhearted.” Before Karmin hit the stage at midnight, The Social transformed into a high-energy nightclub complete with go go dancers and stilt walkers for an ultra-sensory experience.

The Social, an elevated entertainment experience located in the heart of Revel, features a variety of popular live cover bands and DJs each week.

From Las Vegas Weekly: Sold Out Electric Daisy Carnival Announces This Weekend's Schedule.

Spread across seven stages, the Electric Daisy Carnival, a three-night dance music fest kicks off Friday with main stage Kinetic Field hosting Sebastian Ingrosso (10:30-midnight), Afrojack (midnight-1:25 a.m.) and Kaskade (1:30 a.m.-3 a.m.), among others. Other Friday night highlights include Swedish House Mafia's Steve Angello (1:45-3 a.m., Cosmic Meadow), Above & Beyond (12:30-2:30 a.m., Circuit Grounds) and Gabriel & Dresden (10:30-11:30 p.m., Circuit Grounds).
