In a much-anticipated move, Angel Management Group finalized its acquisition of Pure Management Group on Wednesday. This means AMG will now assume operation of nearly 10 clubs, including PURE Nightclub at Caesars Palace, LAX Nightclub at Luxor Las Vegas and Social House restaurant at Crystals in CityCenter. AMG already handled promotions, marketing, VIP services and event programming for seven Vegas outlets and manages Hard Rock Beach Club, including Rehab, as well as marketing and VIP services for Vanity Nightclub at the Hard Rock. In a statement, AMG CEO Neil Moffitt said the company’s “first priority will be to expand upon the success of our current venues and develop our existing brands in other territories, followed by the launch of several new Las Vegas venues in 2011.”
Hard Rock Café International, the company that licenses the Hard Rock Café trademarks, filed a federal lawsuit against the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas saying the owners and operators of the Vegas location have “damaged the goodwill” of the Hard Rock franchise. Their claims cite the Rehab daytime party — and the reality TV show based on it — which, the lawsuit says, “revels in drunken debauchery, acts of vandalism, sexual harassment, violence, criminality and a host of other behavior” that most people, including the brand’s regular patrons, would find offensive, according to the lawsuit. The suit also claims that the show portrays the hotel’s staff members as “unprofessional, incompetent and/or physically and emotionally abusive to hotel guests.” For more information, click here.
