Boston Beer Co.'s Jim Koch to Speak at NBWA Convention

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) is proud to announce that Jim Koch, Brewer and Founder of the Boston Beer Company, will speak at NBWA’s 72nd Annual Convention & Trade Show, September 22-25, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

“We are excited to add Jim Koch to the lineup of dynamic speakers who will be addressing more than 3,000 men and women in the beer industry during the upcoming Convention,” said NBWA President Craig Purser. “Through his entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and determination, Jim has helped shape the craft beer industry in this country - which invigorates the entire American beer industry.  It’s great to think that there are more than 1,500 brewers and nearly 13,000 labels of beer available in the U.S. today – in good part because of the innovative beer flavors and styles craft brewers create.”

Koch founded Boston Beer Company in 1984, using his great-great grandfather’s recipe. Back then, he went door-to-door with bottles in his briefcase selling his Samuel Adams brew. Koch knows first-hand the value that beer distributors bring to the American beer industry. Today Boston Beer Co. brews 21 different styles of beer, is available nationally and employs over 700 people.

“Jim Koch has been a leader in forging strong relationships with distributors and working with distributors to secure shelf space and get to market,” added Purser.  “That’s why Boston Beer has labels being sold in every state in the U.S.”
