Brother Jimmy's BBQ Announces Expansion Plans

New York, NY (February 2, 2011)—Dining Entertainment Group (DEG), the parent company of Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, announced today that it plans to open three more stores all outside of New York City within the next 12 months.   The three stores will open respectfully, on the island of St. Maarten in January 2011, Miami in Summer 2011 and New Brunswick, New Jersey in November 2011.

The 8,000 square foot space opening in November 2011, located right off of Rutgers University’s campus in downtown New Brunswick, will be the first company-owned Brother Jimmy’s BBQ store located outside Manhattan.  Its 200+ seated capacity will contain several signature areas similar to its New York City stores, 40 HD TVs and a stage for live music.  The design will mimic the rustic and antique atmosphere of a southern roadhouse, characteristic of all Brother Jimmy’s venues. The layout successfully blends the bar with the dining areas; combining the two environments for a heightened experience.

Located in Miami’s Downtown Brickell neighborhood, the 7,000 square foot store opening in the Summer of 2011 will be the company’s second franchise and first location in the state of Florida.  The Miami location will feature 275 seats, both indoor and outdoor, and is owned by James Goldman (original founder of Brother Jimmy’s), Ron Berkowitz (Owner of Berk Communications) and Jon Vilma (NFL Super Bowl Champion Linebacker for the New Orleans Saints).

In addition to New Brunswick and Miami, DEG has also signed a franchise deal with St. Maarten Hospitality Group, owned by James Goldman, to open a 6,000 square foot (2,400 square feet inside and 4,000 square feet outdoor rooftop) Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, located on the Dutch side of the island of St. Maarten, January 20, 2011.  The 100 seat restaurant will feature 22 TV’s, an indoor and outdoor bar and will bring authentic Carolina BBQ to the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean.

Josh Lebowitz, owner of Dining Entertainment Group says, “We look forward to growing the brand outside of the New York area, and ultimately taking the Brother Jimmy’s BBQ experience to new customers around the country.”
