Campari America Appoints Chief Operating Officer

Campari America (formerly Skyy Spirits), a wholly owned subsidiary of Davide Campari-Milano S.p.A., announces the appointment of Paolo Perego to chief operating officer. Effective in March, Perego will oversee sales, marketing, finance, legal and human resources for Campari America’s operations in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, reporting directly to Campari America CEO and Chairman Gerry Ruvo.
“Campari America is building momentum in the market and the appointment of Paolo Perego to COO will help us manage that growth while also uncovering new opportunities for our company and our brands,” Ruvo says. “Paolo has more than 20 years global spirits industry experience that I am positive will bring a much broader view of how we go to market and how Campari America works cooperatively with our valued business partners”.
Perego started at Gruppo Campari in 1990 as a sales promoter for Africa and the Middle East and has climbed the ranks to his most recent position as managing director of Gruppo Campari’s South American business unit, one of the largest business units in the company.
Perego will be based at Campari America headquarters in San Francisco. A native of Italy, he is fluent in Italian, English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
Earlier in January, Campari America announced that it changed its public identity from Skyy Spirits to Campari America in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. This name change simultaneously aligns the company more closely with its Milan-headquartered parent corporation and its affiliates, collectively known as Gruppo Campari, and better reflects the full scale of Campari America’s growing spirits portfolio.
