Cocktails Make the News in Celebration and Controversy

As cocktails get bigger, so does the potential for controversy. At the New York Times, a recent blog post scrutinizes tie ups between spirit supplier mixologists and publications: From Gourmet Live, Cocktails with a Corporate Link.

And over at The Atlantic, a post by Chantal Martineau about Eben Freeman’s quest for copyright protection has stirred up a fuss, including input from Josh Harris in SF.

Bartender training continues to advance beyond the splash and spill franchise operations. Joining the field is the busy Dushan Zaric’s Bar Academia in New York City, which will be offering an intensive 50-hour beginner’s course.
