Happy IPA Day to All the Beer Lovers Out There!

After a successful inaugural celebration in 2011, IPA Day makes its return today August 2, 2012! And you are invited to celebrate the art, science, flavor and history of IPA craft beer.

On a mission to revolutionize the beer industry through education, innovation and advocacy, craft beer enthusiasts Ashley Routson and Ryan Ross established the celebration last year. The official announcement to bring it back was made by Craftbeer.com last month.

IPA Day is an opportunity for all to celebrate their love for craft beer! And there are multiple ways to get involved. Take Beer Army Outpost in North Carolina for example. Today they will be celebrating by hosting a Blue Point Brewery beer tasting, pouring nine of their brands. In addition, Stone Brewing Company will be hosting an IPA celebration at their outside bar in Escondido, CA.  More ideas and promotions that you can take advantage of to celebrate IPA Day can be found at CraftBeer.com.

If you haven’t already planned a celebration or promotion at your venue, no worries! Just inform your staff to communicate it to you customers.  You could even put together some friendly competition among your staff and incentivize the person that sells the most IPAs today.

At any rate, get a few different IPAs to sample as a group and discuss the different hop profiles. I guarantee it will be a thought-provoking conversation.

For me, today I will raise my glass filled with India Pale Ale to all of the men and women out there that appreciate a well-crafted beer.
