Iconic German Wine, Black Tower, Unveils New Two-Tone Bottle Jacket and Brand Story

The most successful German export wine brand of the past 40 years, Black Tower is relaunching in the US market this fall. Formerly all black, the new two-tone bottle features a clear lower half that lets the wine varietal shine through, while the upper half retains its iconic black color.
A new tagline, “Easy Ends The Day,” speaks to Black Tower’s target audience of young professionals looking for an uncomplicated wine, both in terms of selection and its ease to drink.

Available in over 50 countries worldwide, Black Tower will introduce its new look to New York, New Jersey, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Illinois this fall. With a suggested retail price of $8.99, the classic range includes Rivaner, Pinot Grigio, and Dornfelder Pinot Noir. Roll-out in additional states is planned for early 2011.

To mark the rollout, Black Tower is partnering with the Today Show’s leading fashion expert, Bobbie Thomas. Debuting at New York Fashion Week, Bobbie will be presenting the Black Tower Color Blocking guide, in homage to the continued appeal of this color-clashing trend on the catwalks this season, and which is echoed in the revamped Black Tower bottle jacket. Bobbie will share an array of expert advice on how your wine, food, fashion, and home décor choices are an extension of your personality type, and how these can be aligned, or clashed, to create real wow-factor in the style stakes amongst your friends this fall.
