Insomniac and Rock the Vote Join Forces to aSpin the Votea

Insomniac and Rock the Vote join forces to include “Spin the Vote” at the 16th annual Electric Daisy Carnival, engaging electronic dance music fans across the country and encouraging them to participate in the upcoming 2012 election.

The program encourages attendees at Las Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival to register to vote, receive election information and share their opinion on the importance of voting. The initiative is supported online at and on Twitter at @SpinTheVote, where individuals can view video messages contributed by prominent artists and tastemakers in the electronic dance music community, as well as register to vote, volunteer, and check out photos from the festivals.

“Partnering with Rock the Vote to create Spin the Vote is a great opportunity for our fans to have their voices heard in the political process,” said Pasquale Rotella, founder and CEO of Insomniac. “Following a tremendous success at EDC New York, we are excited to introduce the proactive project to Las Vegas and enliven our fans to participate in the upcoming election, especially in a vital swing state like Nevada.”

Spin the Vote connects young voters at Insomniac music festivals throughout the year and will be present at Electric Forest in June, Nocturnal Wonderland in September and Escape from Wonderland in October.

“With the growing popularity of electronic dance music among young adults, there is no better opportunity than Insomniac’s festivals to inspire and register new voters across the US,” said Heather Smith, president of Rock the Vote.
