New Aberlour Package Reflects The Hidden Richness of the Whisky

NEW YORK, NY (November 22, 2010) – Aberlour Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, one of the most sought after malt whiskies in the world, unveils sophisticated new packaging for the full line of exceptional Aberlour whiskies including Aberlour 18 Year Old (available for sale in the US). The new look has been developed to more accurately reflect the superior quality of the whisky within and position Aberlour where it rightfully belongs in the world of luxury spirits.

Aberlour Highland Single Malt Scotch

“Aberlour 18 Year Old is considered by many to be the most indulgent of the Aberlour expressions,” commented Troy Gorczyca, Brand Manager Single Malts, Pernod Ricard USA. “Like all Aberlour whiskies, Aberlour 18 utilizes double cask maturation to create a rich and harmonious balance of flavors with layers of complexity that reveal themselves over time. Our new packaging more accurately reflects the quality and core values of the brand – honesty, pride, discretion, depth and shared pleasure – in an elegant and more contemporary way.”

Aberlour’s packaging evolution includes a slightly modernized logo with a lighter curve and richer color. The redesigned brand crest, depicting the oak tree and water, symbolizes the brand’s heritage, environment and life and the addition of founder James Fleming’s signature lends the package a stronger sense of authenticity. The Aberlour canisters have also been redesigned to compliment the package changes and drive a more premium image for the brand.

An award winning malt whiskey, Aberlour 18 Year Old is auburn gold in color and offers a nose that combines notes of toffee and butterscotch with ripe peach and bitter orange. On the palate, initial notes of soft apricot and peach give way to developing flavors of old leather, oak and honey. The long and balanced finish is indicative of the whisky’s impeccable structure. “The Aberlour distillery lies in the heart of Speyside, Scotland’s premier whisky-making region renowned for creating whiskies of subtle depth and elegance,” added Gorczyca. “It is critical that Aberlour’s packaging clearly communicates, to the discerning consumer, the essence and quality of Aberlour Single Malt Scotch Whisky. We believe our new packaging achieves that goal.”

Aberlour 18 Year Old packaging upgrade will arrive at retail in the fall of 2010. The suggested retail price of Aberlour 18 Year Old is $100/750ml.
