Pittsburgh Blue in Minneapolis opened its “green oasis” patio. Landscaping such as flowers in hanging baskets, a cedar trellis, birch trees and arborvitae encloses the outdoor space. The focal point of the patio is a copper firepot set amidst an 8-foot-tall water feature. Designer Phil Roberts chose comfortable white chairs as well as black, solid surface tabletops with burnt orange umbrellas to provide shade. Both the regular and Blue Tavern menus are available for outdoor dining.

This spring, The Light Group debuted Liquid, the newest ultra pool lounge at Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Liquid offers poolside pampering and a party experience with dipping pools, cocktails and world class DJs and performers. The cocktail menu includes the Liquid-Rita and the Liquid Passion, made with fresh blood orange puree and Watermelon Cooler. Liquid has private cabanas with 40-inch flatscreen TVs, two private dipping pools, chaise lounges and day beds enveloped by a 1,200 square-foot pool.

The JW Marriott/Ritz-Carlton in downtown Los Angeles announced the opening of L.A. Market, headed by consulting chef Kerry Simon, along with three new bars: lobby lounge Glance, poolside bar Ion and cocktail lounge The Mixing Room. Francesco Lafranconi, director of mixology for Southern Wine & Spirits, created the beverage lists at the venues, which include contemporary cocktails made with ingredients and liquors like thyme, basil, Aperol, Averna, Maraschino liqueur and Pisco. Cocktails run $10 and are made with fresh fruit and juices. L.A. Market focuses on classic dishes with fresh market ingredients.

Toby Keith's I Love this Bar & GrillCountry music star Toby Keith plans to open his 10th Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill at Patriot Place in Foxborough, Mass., this summer. The 19,000-square-foot entertainment and restaurant venue features 50 HDTV screens, a mechanical bull named Toby and live music. The menu offers typical home-cooked Southern food including pulled-pork sandwiches, fried bologna sandwiches, meatloaf and fried Twinkies. The venue has two VIP rooms, a private dining area, an outdoor patio and a gift shop.

At Sugarcane raw bar grill in Miami’s Midtown design district, the tapas-style restaurant is a mix of international flavor with South American spirit. CetraRuddy designed the 4,200-square-foot restaurant and added an 850-square-foot outdoor area. The restaurant’s design is inspired by South America Colonial Spanish-style architecture featuring vintage objects, salvaged wood floors, hand-painted Moroccan tiles, vintage wallpapers and antique mirrors. The bar wraps from the inside of the restaurant to the outside terrace creating a sense of openness to encourage guest interaction.
