“Not only does our 2014 Top 100 survey show that Las Vegas has rightfully earned its reputation as the nation’s nightlife capital with 24 venues making the list, but also the results prove just how much patrons love nightlife venues across the entire country with ongoing growth in the industry,” said Jon Taffer, president of Nightclub & Bar and host and executive producer of Spike TV’s “Bar Rescue.” “Seeing our 2014 list gets my heart racing because these venues continue to push each other day after day, and I can see the concrete results of their dedicated efforts through these revenue numbers. It’s an amazing time to operate a nightclub or bar.”

While the sheer volume of Top 100 survey submissions could have served as enough evidence for the positive health of the nightlife industry, the total revenue generated by the 2014 Top 100 showcases the demand these venues fulfill. More than 77% of operators surveyed experienced revenue growth in 2013 and one-third of which (30.4%) reported revenue growth in excess of 10%, while 35.7% of them reported between 5 and 10% growth. Nightlife venues across the country continued to thrive as patrons sought outlets both new and established to discover the latest cocktails, music and experiences.

As high-volume nightclub venues continued to play a key role in the Las Vegas nightlife scene, Nightclub & Bar made a unique addition for the first time within the 2014 Top 100, granting Hakkasan Las Vegas  honorary placement, since the venue was not open for the full year required to receive an official Nightclub & Bar Top 100 Award. With Hakkasan’s current high-volume revenue generating pace they are expected to gross more than $90 million, an extraordinary feat for a new venue. In addition, LIGHT Las Vegas will also receive honorary placement for their outstanding accomplishments. Nightclub & Bar felt the significant business achievements made by each venue deserved recognition as they generated eye-opening revenue during their abbreviated periods of operation in 2013.

The 2014 Top 100 list was crafted following a comprehensive process in which nightlife venues submitted survey information to Nightclub & Bar during fall 2013, followed by a lengthy analysis throughout the first two months of 2014. Nightclub & Bar engaged a third-party team of statistical experts who used a detailed formulaic approach to review the data submitted by each venue and develop the Top 100. Top 100 Methodology
The 2014 Nightclub & Bar Top 100 list is developed by Nightclub & Bar Media Group. An online survey of operators was conducted from Oct. 14 to Dec. 13, 2013 and yielded primary data from hundreds of nightclub, bar and lounge locations, from which key information and insights are generated. Secondary research involving public databases, scans of major metropolitan markets and industry resources provided additional data points. Furthermore, third-party statistical experts used a detailed formulaic approach to break down and review the data submitted by each venue. Total revenues are presented in ranges for calendar year 2013; specific ranking is determined by estimated midpoint of annual revenue. Concepts included must be operating all 12 months of the 2013 calendar year. Estimates are based on information provided by venue and secondary research. Gentlemen’s clubs and Dayclubs are not included in this roster.
