Pernod Ricard USA and Bar, LLC's 'Pioneers In Mixology' Roadshow of Advanced Mixology is a Success

New York, N.Y. – Pernod Ricard USA once again showed itself as a leader in trade education through its recently wrapped series, "Pioneers in Mixology." The program is a one of a kind, BarSmarts exclusive program that has brought the best and the brightest in the craft bartending world to graduates of the BarSmarts ADVANCED and BarSmarts WIRED certification programs. Pioneers attendees from the New York, Chicago and Los Angeles events had this to say:

· “Incredibly interesting and informative. I feel that I have come out of it a better hospitality professional with a greater understanding of what is actually possible in the trade” - Elizabeth P., Los Angeles
· “I had taken BarSmarts before and knew that it was great but following it up with an amazing event such as this definitely sets these guys apart in the game” - Oscar O., Chicago

For one week in March, a team of world-class industry experts including Gary Regan, Tony Conigliaro, Nick Strangeway, Aisha Sharpe and Dushan Zuric, in partnership with Pernod Ricard USA, traveled across the country to bring the Pioneers in Mixology road show of advanced mixology and techniques to BarSmarts Graduates in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The one-day curriculum included some of mixology’s hottest and most relevant topics including: Scientific Methods Used in Everyday Bartending; The Craft of Bartending Using Local Ingredients; the Mastery of Service.

Steve Chasen, director of on-premise trade marketing for Pernod Ricard USA said, “The preliminary feedback from our BarSmarts Pioneers program is nothing short of amazing. Since we wrapped the three sessions, we have received numerous accolades from program participants and presenters alike. The setting, the turnout, the materials and the presenters were all top-notch and the attention to detail was really solid. Our team is already hard at work developing new ideas on how we can build on this proprietary concept and continue to expand the BarSmarts educational footprint.”

Gary Regan, industry guru and host of the three "Pioneers in Mixology" events added, “BarSmarts Pioneers has set a new standard of excellence for the bartending profession as a whole and represents the next step in our participants’ quest for new experiences and new ways to improve upon their craft. The attendees, without exception, are passionate for their craft and eager to seize every opportunity to develop their bartending skills and these three, one-day Pioneers sessions did not disappoint.”

The Pioneers in Mixology events were held on March 22 in New York, March 24 in Chicago and March 28 in Los Angeles. Participants included graduates of the rigorous BarSmarts Advanced or BarSmarts Wired bartender training, education and certification programs as well as local influencers in the field of mixology.

Suzanne Freedman, director of on-premise and BarSmarts, Pernod Ricard USA, was on hand for the three Pioneers sessions and noted, “Our goal with the Pioneers program was three fold; to stay connected with our graduates and industry influencers, continuing to help them build their knowledge and skills sets to further hone their craft; to continue to expand upon the powerful BarSmarts concept; and, to maintain Pernod Ricard USA’s leadership position in the field of bartender education. Based on the feedback we have received from Pioneers attendees, presenters and special influential guests invited to the sessions, we have not only achieved our goals, we have blown them away.”
