Pernod Ricard USA Wins Top Honors at Leading Spirits Competitions

Pernod Ricard USA is proud to announce that it has been named “Importer of the Year” by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, which also awarded “Best in Class” prizes to Pernod Ricard’s ABSOLUT ELYX, Beefeater Gin and Pernod Absinthe.

In addition, the company won “Chairman’s Trophy” awards for Jameson® 18 YO Blended Irish Whiskey, Redbreast® 15 YO Irish Pot Still Whiskey and Royal Salute™ 21 YO Blended Scotch Whisky at the 2013 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.

“Our customers and consumers recognize the outstanding quality of our premium brands, and we are extremely proud to gain this added validation from such prestigious competitions,” said Bryan Fry, President and Chief Executive Officer, Pernod Ricard USA. “Clearly, the anticipation of our soon-to-be-introduced, ultrapremium ABSOLUT ELYX just got even stronger.  And our leadership in the whiskey category, where we have the leaders in the two fastest-growing segments – Irish Whiskey and Single Malt, with Jameson and The Glenlivet® – has been further solidified.”

At the renowned San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Pernod Ricard USA’s premium portfolio won 45 medals, including the three Best in Class, 15 Double Gold Medals and 10 Gold Medals (see full list of these and other award winners below).

At the fourth annual Ultimate Spirits Challenge, held in New York City,  19 Pernod Ricard USA brands, including 12 whiskies, were selected as ‘Finalists’ in their respective categories (see list below) and 12 brands received an ‘Excellent, Highly Recommended’ designation.

“These awards speak volumes about the quality and range of our brands,” concluded Fry.   From premium to luxury, Pernod Ricard USA has an incredibly powerful portfolio.”
