Repeal Day Parties, Manhattan Fellowships and Tales on the Road

Repeal DayRepeal Day (Dec. 5) parties are seemingly everywhere. In New York, Employees Only hosts a “wear your Prohibition era finest” soiree; in Seattle, Vessel rocks out with a burlesque party and vintage attire; the third annual Repeal Day Ball in Washington, DC (Dec. 4) is a black tie affair at the Adams Morgan to benefit the DC Craft Bartenders Guild and the Museum of the American Cocktail; while in San Francisco, the Barbary Coast Conservancy of the American Cocktail hosts its party at the "Cocktail Bill" Boothby Center for the Beverage Arts.


The Manhattan Cocktail Classic announces a fellowship program for up-and-coming bartenders, offering the opportunity “to accelerate their educational and professional development while working alongside some of the greatest bartenders in the industry.” As participants, fellows will be able to participate in a number of the festival events and activities. Tales of the Cocktail is hitting the road, with its first “mini-festival” to be held in Vancouver, Canada, March 13-15, 2011, with a series of parties and seminars designed to give cocktail lovers a taste of what’s in store at Tales of the Cocktail 2011. Six seminars over three days will be held at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel.
