“Thousands of hangovers and one hell of a good time” is quite the statement for a birthday celebration, but such was the motto for Wish Ultra Lounge’s birthday bash. The Dallas nightclub, which ranked No. 98 in Nightclub & Bar’s Top 100 last year, has beaten the odds and is celebrating its fourth year in this tough economy. Wish raised the nightlife bar once again when it hosted an over-the-top appreciation party on Sept. 21, full of Moet & Chandon Champagne and Belvedere Vodka.
The guests got a taste of Sin City as DJ Warren Peace from XS Nightclub in Las Vegas mastered the turntables throughout the night. Congratulations, Wish — may you have another successful year filled with decadent drinks and dancing.
In late July the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission voted to adopt a change to the course requirements for alcohol server training. Don’t worry, it’s good news. Instead of the four-hour course, employees will have to undergo only two hours of training. The Commission is working on a course curriculum that will focus on avoiding sales to minors and intoxicated persons. The new two-hour course will go into effect in January 2011.
