Valley of the Moon Chardonnay and Zinfandel

Valley of the Moon is releasing its 2009 Valley of the Moon Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and its 2008 Valley of the Moon Sonoma County Zinfandel. The Chardonnay has aromas of pear, lemon and vanilla with lime and kiwi notes, and its full tropical fruit, lemon zest and kiwi flavors give it a balanced and crisp acidity. The Zinfandel, a blend of Petite Sirah and Syrah, showcases boysenberry and blueberry aromas with subtle notes of cumin and baking spice, with flavors of raspberry, boysenberry, espresso and black pepper.

La Piazza and Allora Wines

Pelican Brands, Calatrasi and the Mineo Family formed a partnership to sell the La Piazza and Allora brands in the U.S. The wines are made from grapes grown in the Sicilian hills. La Piazza white wines include a blend of the Catarratto grape from Sicily and a Chardonnay, as well as a Pinot Grigio blend made with Merlot and Nero d’Avola red wines. The Allora wines are full-bodied and include Viognier, Grillo, Nero d’Avilo from Sicily and Primitivo (Zinfandel) from Salento.

2008 Kenwood Vineyards Jack London Zinfandel

The 2008 Kenwood Vineyards Jack London Zinfandel, made in the Jack London Vineyard in the Sonoma Mountain, uses grapes with raspberry, blueberry and mint. The Zinfandel, a mixture of Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, has strong raspberry and blueberry aromas, accented by spice, mint and smoke undertones. The blueberry and raspberry flavors have a hint of mint, with a smooth palate and lingering finish.
