WINK News: Coconut Mojito Selected as Naples Signature Cocktail

The city of Naples has a new signature cocktail. People were asked to vote for their favorite drink, out of six unique cocktails.

The idea behind the contest was to pick a drink that defines Naples. New Orleans has the Hurricane, Key West has the Margarita, the Caribbean has Rum Punch and now Naples has the Naples has the Coconut Mojito.

More than a hundred people packed Stoney's Steakhouse in Naples so they could have a taste in deciding Naples new signature drink.

"I thought it was a super idea and I'd like to be a part of Naples history choosing a drink named after the city," says Naples resident B.J. Rahn.

The voters sipped on six different cocktails. Some were better than other, but ultimately, the contest came down to two clear favorites.

The Basil Lemonade and the Coconut Mojito. The Coconut Mojito edged out the lemonade by just two votes. Edine Opet says, "this was my favorite. The Coconut Mojito and I'm not necessarily a Mojito person but this was really great."
