Hell’s Kitchen welcomes Z Bar Restaurant & Sky-Lounge to its neighborhood the end of November. The Latin European fused restaurant and glass enclosed Sky-Lounge will serve up a casual dining and lounge experience for customers.
Z Bar Restaurant incorporates dark antique barn wood, exposed brick walls and columns, walnut bamboo floors and metallic gold leather upholstery into its overall design aesthetic. Warm bronze colors and soft lighting set the scene for a romantic and intimate dining space. Z Bar Sky-Lounge allows patrons the ability to drink and dine while taking in stunning vistas of New York City’s skyline. Partially enclosed in glass for year round usage, the 4,000 square foot space is outfitted with VIP cabanas, cobblestone paved floors and modern lounge furniture. Z Bar Restaurant & Sky-Lounge is located above Stage 48, combining nightlife excellence with fine dining between 4 floors and 30,000 square feet.
Executive Chef Ricardo Cardona helms Z Bar’s kitchen creating cutting edge Nuevo Latino cuisine. Chef Cardona has navigated his way through an extensive career in New York City’s dining scene including ventures at Hudson River Café, all Mamajuana locations, Sofrito, Sazon, Lua, and Josephina. In addition, Cardona is a celebrated private chef for the New York Yankees and their visiting teams. The James Beard recipient has fused together Latin and European ingredients, techniques and cooking styles to create an extensive seasonal menu for patrons at Z Bar Restaurant & Sky-Lounge in his own backyard. “As a native to the area, I’m excited to bring my expertise and take on Latin fusion cuisine to a part of the city that craves unique dining choices,” explained Chef Cardona.
The majority of Z Bar’s menu options are comprised of small eats designed for the table to share including Tacos Carne Enchipotlados with dry aged ribeye steak and poblano rajas peppers, Empanada with pork confit and Paellita ZBar with lobster, sepia, prawn, safran and piquillo. The Bar Crudo menu section, which is also available at the Sky-Lounge, offers a wide array of raw delicacies such as Kobe Beef Carpaccio, Tuna & Lobster Ceviche and Oyster Ceviche with tequila sangrita.
A large polished concrete bar can be found in the restaurant’s lounge area where patrons can enjoy creative seasonal, signature cocktails such as the Pumpkin Martini. Chef Cardona’s bar menu includes Crispy Shrimp with artichokes, sweet chili sauce and a smoked tomato aioli, Cheese Croquettes wild mushrooms and sundried tomatoes and a Slider Trio including lamb, beef and sausage.
Founder Pedro Zamora has overseen the construction of a space where patrons can enjoy nightlife through several outlets. “Z Bar Restaurant & Sky-Lounge completes our plan to fuse together nightlife and fine dining in one space,” explained Zamora.
