Coupling Up

Anything that you can do to attract singles to your club or bar, you should be doing. These activities include booking singles groups, posting info about your club in singles chat rooms and advertising on websites for single people in your area. Once you get the single people through the door, think about having dating game contests in the spirit of “Singled Out” or even “The Dating Game.”

Other methods like speed dating, where two people hang out one-on-one for 3 to 5 minutes to get acquainted, is a sure-fire way to get more people in your establishment. After the time is up, they switch partners with someone at the next table. This continues until everyone at the party has met everyone else. Exchanging phone numbers or personal information isn’t allowed the singles during their three-minute meeting. However, if both parties indicate to the host that they are interested in each other then the host will provide each single with the other’s phone number. This eliminates any potential “awkward” situations and makes this a very attractive and safe way to meet new people. Once everyone has met everyone, they’re free to mingle and spend more time and find out more about the people they found interesting during the short meetings at the tables.
To get started, you can get in touch with companies who organize these events in your area and who would be willing to host one at your club if you ask them to. They take the cover charge for the people that they attract, and you get the liquor sales. Not only that but it’s a great way to gain exposure for your bar or club, especially for guests who otherwise may not have ever stopped in.
