Korbel Looks For Romance in the USA

GUERNEVILLE (Russian River Valley), CA, January 5, 2011 – With the most romantic day of the year approaching, Korbel California Champagne, who for over 129 years has been toasting love and romance, is once again looking for the most romantic city in America.

What makes a city romantic? Is it luscious landscapes, vibrant history, famous restaurants, incredibly special moments? Within every city in America there are stories of first loves, first kisses and special moments – whether it’s a diner, a world-class hotel, or a quaint park – romance can be found anywhere. This was evident by the hundreds of cities nominated in last year’s search for romantic cities. But it was Hana, HI – with its spectacular waterfalls, rugged shorelines and breathtaking sunsets – that was named “Most Romantic City in America” by Korbel consumers.

Korbel is once again inviting consumers (where legal) to nominate the city they believe to be the most romantic, by visiting www.korbel.com/romanceusa. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, consumers can also submit a photo with a caption, along with why they’ve nominated their city as the most romantic. There will be twenty finalists chosen January 6 - February 3, with ultimately one city being named the "Most Romantic City in America". The winner will be named February 9th - just in time to make someone's Valentine's Day a little sweeter. They’ll receive their own romantic trip for two to Sonoma County, California – the home of Korbel Champagne Cellars, one of California’s most romantic wineries – for four days and three nights including airfare, accommodations, gourmet dining and a VIP tour of Korbel’s historic cellars and exquisite gardens.

Established in 1882, Korbel Champagne Cellars produces the United States’ most popular premium méthode champenoise champagne. Owned and managed by the Heck Family since 1954, Korbel currently makes eleven champagnes and a limited amount of still wine. In a separate facility, Korbel also produces one of the country’s most respected brandies.
