Cliff Cate

Bio:

Cliff Cate serves as Vice President and General Manager of Restaurants at Yelp, where he leads go to market strategy and operational execution for the company’s hospitality business. Since 2022, he has overseen restaurant focused strategy and cross functional teams driving growth across Yelp Guest Manager and Yelp’s advertising solutions, with a focus on integrating technology into front of house operations to improve efficiency, guest experience, and revenue outcomes for operators.

Previously, Cliff led the strategic transition of Yelp’s food ordering business, Eat24, through its acquisition by Grubhub, navigating complex integration and partnership dynamics while ensuring continuity for restaurant partners. His experience centers on scaling high growth platforms and aligning product innovation with real world restaurant needs.

Outside of Yelp, Cliff is the owner and winemaker at Zobèto Wines, a small family run winery in Paso Robles. His hands on work in the vineyard and cellar gives him a grounded perspective on hospitality, craftsmanship, and the day to day realities facing independent operators.
